Leslie has studied with Robert Mesrop, Julie Blanchard, and Vera Champlin. She has taken workshops with Paul George, Elizabeth Pratt, and Roberta Silbret. Leslie has won several first place awards at the Cape Cod Art Association in Barnstable, Massachusetts, including those for "Bone Hill Road," "California Coast," and "Ariel's Swing."

Yarmouth Port Art Studio on Cape Cod is the home of Leslie Altman, watercolor painter and photographer. Set in Yarmouth Port's National Historic District, the studio is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Leslie works in her studio and en plein air. Her work has been exhibited in local galleries, including the Cape Cod Art Association, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod, the Cape Cod Creative Arts Center, and the Artists' Paintbox. Her work can be found in homes in California, Pennsylvania, New York, Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.
Leslie focuses on landscapes of places she has enjoyed. Her paintings and photographs represent both travel abroad and trips closer to home. She tries to capture the feelings the landscapes evoke through color and light.
